Truth in a Deceptive World
“Everyone lies to their neighbor; they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts.” (Psalm 12:2)
David describes a society where truth has eroded. Words are used to manipulate, flatter, and deceive. As we open the year, this verse challenges us to live differently—to be people of truth in a world of falsehood.
Deception may be common, but it is not God’s way. He calls us to speak with integrity, to let our yes be yes, and our no be no. When we live truthfully, we reflect His character.
This year, let us examine our words and motives. Are we sincere in our speech? Do our hearts align with our lips? Let us anchor ourselves in God’s Word, which is flawless and pure. In a world of shifting values, His truth remains unchanging.
Prayer: Father, guard my lips from falsehood. Let me walk in truth and speak with sincerity. Help me trust Your Word above all human voices this year. Amen.
