Glad Heart, Secure Rest
“Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.” (Psalm 16:9)
David’s trust in God leads to joy and rest. His heart is glad, his words are full of praise, and even his body finds peace. As we begin the year, this verse reminds us that true rest flows from spiritual security.
When we know that God is in control, we can sleep in peace. When we trust His promises, our hearts rejoice. Joy is not the absence of trouble—it is the presence of God.
This year, let us pursue rest—not just physical, but emotional and spiritual. Let us release anxiety and embrace the peace that comes from trusting God fully.
Prayer: Father, fill my heart with gladness and grant me secure rest in Your care. Let my words be full of praise and my nights be filled with peace. I trust You with every part of this year. Amen.
