Peace in the Storm

Peace in the Storm

“A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” (Mark 4:37–38).

The disciples panicked as the boat filled with water, crying, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” Their desperation mirrors our own cries when life feels overwhelming. Yet Jesus was asleep—resting in perfect peace. His calmness teaches us that storms are not signs of abandonment but opportunities to experience His power. When He spoke, “Quiet! Be still!” creation obeyed. The same voice that calmed the sea speaks peace into our hearts today. Fear asks, “What if I perish?” Faith declares, “My Saviour is with me.” Let us learn to rest as He rested, trusting that no storm is greater than His authority. May we experience peace in the storms,

Prayer: Prince of Peace, teach me to rest in you when storms rage. Replace my fear with faith, and let your voice calm my heart. May I walk in your peace, knowing you are greater than any trial I face. Amen.
