The Futility of Lies
“While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened… So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.”(Mat. 28:11–15).
The guards witnessed the resurrection, yet the chief priests chose lies over truth. They bribed the soldiers to spread a false report, hoping to bury the reality of Christ’s victory. But no amount of money or deception could undo what God had accomplished. The empty tomb remained a testimony that Jesus is alive.
This passage reminds us that truth may be resisted, but it cannot be destroyed. Lies may circulate, but the risen Christ continues to transform lives. As believers, we are called to stand boldly for truth, even when the world prefers deception.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You that Your resurrection cannot be silenced. Strengthen me to proclaim Your truth with courage, even when the world resists. Amen.
